The Acute Care Unit provides care for medical and surgical patients, as well as those needing intensive care. The nursing team provides caring, individualized attention to patients who are hospitalized for an illness, surgery or observation. The team of physicians, pharmacists, physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapists work together to provide quality care to each patient.
Our 18-bed Acute Care Unit offers private rooms to patients 15 years of age and older. Each room is equipped with an adjustable bed, remote controlled TV and direct access to the nursing staff. In addition to local and cable TV stations, we offer a patient education channel which provides our patients with information on a variety of health topics 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
All patient rooms are equipped with a telephone to be used for local calls only. Long distance calls can be made using a calling card. Medical Care
accept patients 15 years of age or older with a variety of medical conditions including but not limited to complications of diabetes, chronic respiratory and cardiac disease, pneumonia, and circulatory disorders. The nursing staff on this unit has a variety of nursing experience that provides a team approach to provide excellence in patient care. Surgical Care
is provided to the majority of the patients who come to the hospital to be admitted on the morning of their surgery. Patients return from the Operating Room and PACU (Recovery Room) to Acute Care where they remain until discharge. The staff monitor patients closely and instruct patients on the disease processes and how to care for themselves when they return home. Intensive Care
rooms are equipped with a monitoring unit capable of monitoring the heart rhythm, respiratory status, and other vital signs. The nursing staff is specially trained to care for patients with illnesses such as heart attacks, lung diseases, traumatic accidents, and serious surgeries.
