New Vision Medical Laboratories
The New Vision Medical Laboratories facilities at Van Wert County Hospital and St.
Rita’s are 24-hour, full service, computerized laboratories providing a comprehensive range of Clinical Pathology services including Coagulation, Chemistry, Hematology, Serology, Immunology, Immunochemistry, Immunohematology (Blood Bank), Microbiology, and Toxicology. Specimens for Anatomic Pathology are received at the Van Wert locations and processed at the New Vision Medical Laboratories St.
Rita's facility.
All of the laboratories are under the medical direction of Board Certified Physician Pathologists who are available for consultation at any time. Administrative, technical, and support functions are performed by a staff of approximately 130 employees, including Medical Technologists, Medical Laboratory Technicians, Histology Technicians, Phlebotomists, and other support personnel.
New Vision Medical Laboratories provides services of the highest quality with a customer oriented focus. The Laboratories are accredited by the College of American Pathologists, the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of
Healthcare Organizations, the American Association of Blood Banks, and licensed by the
FDA and
CMS (
CLIA). The Laboratories are enrolled in daily internal and external quality control and Process and Quality Improvement programs. Tests which are not performed on site are sent to CAP/
CLIA accredited laboratories.
