Therapy Solutions

 
Physical Rehabilitation Department includes physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.  Therapists treat patient while in the hospital or in an outpatient setting.  Therapy services are provided by Therapy Solutions. Aquatic therapy is offered at the Van Wert YMCA three times per week.

What to know about coming to therapy:    

• You must be referred by your physician, physician’s assistant, chiropractor (Medicare and Medicaid excluded), or nurse practitioner.

• Please call to schedule your first appointment with a physical, occupational or speech therapist.

• Expect your first session to last approximately 1 hour. After your first session, your appointments may last 30 minutes to 1 hour. Please ask your therapist for an estimate.

• Please come 5-10 minutes before your first scheduled appointment so that office staff can register you.

• Bring your insurance card and a photo ID for registration and your updated medication list, if possible.

• Therapy is often covered by your insurance benefits.  For specific coverage, please contact your insurance company and ask for your outpatient physical, occupational, or speech therapy benefits at Van Wert County Hospital.

• For specific questions about billing, please call Van Wert County Hospital and ask for the billing department.

• Wear comfortable clothes as you may be performing exercises.

• The therapist will evaluate you and possibly start treatment at your first visit.  He or she will set up a plan of care with goals for your treatment.  At that time, you will be scheduled for your next visits.

• The therapist will most likely give you exercises or instructions for home also.
